The Fritsch Pulverisette 1 jaw crusher is ideal for the intermittent or continuous pre-crushing of materials with a maximum particle feed size of 60mm (model I) and 95mm (model II), down to a final fineness of ‹1mm. A 10 stage adjustment setting, sets the gap at the bottom of the jaws, to a maximum of 15mm and a minimum of 1mm.
The material being processed is crushed under very high pressure between two crushing jaws in an enclosed chamber. A fixed vertical crushing jaw is situated between two supports walls; a second cam driven jaw, draws the material between the two jaws and crushes it against the fixed jaw to achieve the sample reduction.
The crushed material leaves the jaw crusher through a gap between the jaws, which can be adjusted to a maximum of 15mm and a minimum of 1mm. When a discrete sample is processed, it can be collected in a drawer underneath the instrument. Alternatively, if the jaw crusher is raised off the ground (on a frame for example), a larger collection vessel may be located underneath it. To achieve further sample size reduction, the crushed material may be fed directly into the Pulverisette 13 laboratory disk mill.
The Fritsch Pulverisette 1 jaw crusher is supplied as standard, fitted with tempered steel crushing jaws. Over time, any wear on the crushing jaws, tends to occur on the bottom half of the plate. When required, the plate on the crushing jaw can be removed (with Allen keys) and turned upside down and refitted, to avoid unnecessary replacement.
